My absolute favourite chicken rice in Singapore. Their standard has improved a lot recently as the rice has become more fragrant and the soup is now less oily and more flavourful. Love their cold chicken breast and the light sauce that comes with it. Really affordable too – had three chicken portions, two plates of rice, one beansprouts dish, one big bowl of soup, all for $13!! 😱

At a certain point, chicken rice has to be established as a dish that has a high floor, but low ceiling. While the line wasn’t that bad, chicken rice is generally rarely disappointing. That being said, the particular chicken rice here was great and quite flavourful.

Good chicken rice. I read many rave reviews and generally agree the chicken rice is above average. However, this is not my favorite stall. E.g., Wee Nam Kee, Chicken House at Upper Thomson are much better. Still, I rated this stall 5 stars as the food is good, the price is reasonable, and the chicken portions are generous.

For a quarter chicken (lower half), plus one rice, I think my bill came to $17+. The chicken feet was $3. The chicken portions could have easily fed 2-3 (I was greedy).

Ming Kee chicken rice would in my opinion be below Wee Nam Kee and Chicken House but above 925 Yishun Chicken Rice. 925 has good chicken rice too but the chicken can be too soft sometimes. Ming Kee’s chicken is succulent but still firm enough. They don’t remove the bones by default though (don’t know if they allow but I supposed one can ask).

The people working at the stall can be a bit overly protective about their chilli sauce. I don’t blame them as too many people waste sauces. But perhaps, they can give the amount of sauces according to the amount of chicken ordered (at least).

Overall verdict: Will definitely come again if in the area.

Moist, tender steamed chicken!!! Srsly one of the best out here in Singapore. Chicken is served cold and skin melts off the chicken!

The rice, soup and vegetable are really good dishes that accompany the chicken. Rice is fragrant and not too oily. Vegetable has a nice crunch which balances the soft tender chicken. Soup is flavourful.

Came at lunchtime on Thursday and there was no queue!

Super love this chicken rice! Chicken is tender and juicy and really yummy. Ordered half chicken at only $14. Rice is fragrance and generous portion .. black sauce and chilli is a must too. Even though is always long queue but serving speed is ok! Can order the yong tau foo soup too!

Would say this is one of the best chilled chicken places I’ve had thus far. The chicken was tender and packed full of flavour.

The rice was light, fragrant and fluffy on its own, although it was frequently overpowered by the sauces (chicken sauce, chili, dark soy sauce). It was so good that I had 1.75 plates of the rice to myself.

The vegetables were well seasoned with a sufficient amount of oyster sauce.

This coffeeshop (Kim San Leng) is frequently packed, so I would recommend coming earlier if you wish to avoid the queue.

Will definitely be back again!

the food here is really good. the chickens are literally like in cold water before i eat them and they are really tender and nice. i’m not saying this just for the drumlets or wings part, but even their chicken breast is also very tender and soft. everyone there is like sure, i’m happy to help or here you go here’s your food!! i really love this place.

Tried Ming Kee Chicken Rice and it’s a solid 4.4/5 stars for me. While it might not be the cheapest chicken rice around, it’s my go-to for a cold white chicken fix in the heartlands of Bishan. If you’re a fan of this style, it’s definitely in my top 10.

The chicken is perfectly poached, with that amazing jelly layer between the skin and the meat. The meat itself is juicy and not dry, and the skin is incredibly smooth—everything you want in a great Hainanese chicken. The rice isn’t the most fragrant, but it’s soft and fluffy enough. The side of veggies is a nice touch to make the meal a little healthier. The price is a bit above average, but for this quality, I think it’s fair.

This chicken rice stall in Bishan always delivers! The quality is consistently top-notch, and it never disappoints. The chicken is always fresh and tasty, with just the right amount of flavor. The best part? After finishing their delicious meal, I never feel thirsty, which tells me they keep it clean and MSG-free. (their chicken rice chilli is the watery version ,which doesnt bother me)

Fair pricing too—my set (in these pictures. i asked for a specific part of the chicken) was $8 nett, which is great value for the quality you get. The free soup is a nice touch, warm and soothing without being overly salty. Definitely one of the best chicken rice spots around. Highly recommend it!
